In this blog I’m going to share 7 Hot Drinks for winter which are my favorite too. Although I’m not a winter person nor a summer person, but winter brings warm drinks that helps to eliminate the chills. People all over the world are of different regions have their own winter drinks and recipes which have been handed down over the generations and will so on. Every Hot Drinks consist of its key ingredients that help to generate warm inside the body and are continuously added to drinks in this winter season. These cozy drinks have several health benefits and can be customized as per the needs and taste.
Masala Chai or Tea
I’m both coffee and tea person according to my mood and need. But this winter I tried Masala chai for the very first time. This Indian Hot drink consist of special ingredients like cinnamon, ginger, cloves and peppercorns along with the basic ingredients. This drink not only gives warm to the body but also combat winter conditions like cough, cold and stuffy nose. This drink is very famous in North India and loved by majority of Indians here. So try this out if you haven’t yet.
Honey Ginger Tea
This drink is caffeine free and completely herbal as well. If you’re down with any of winter conditions like cold and cough then this drink is a must try. I personally like this hot drink in winter and sometimes in summer as well as a detox drink. Very simple and easy to make by boiling a cup of water, add ginger and then strain it. Lastly add honey and your honey ginger tea is ready.
Hot Tulsi Tea
This drink is as simple to make as it sounds. It is pleasing and refreshing with its herbal accents, good for sore throat during cold days. But its anti- bacterial properties makes it a detox drink too. Give it a try.
Golden milk Latte
This is spicy and creamy drink to have both at day and night. I like to have this drink at night during winters while reading my book. With few simple steps it is easy to make. By combining milk ( any of your choices ) with slices of raw turmeric, ginger slices, cinnamon stick, honey, cloves, ground turmeric and peppercorns. Bring it to simmer and let it infused for 20 min, strain and served hot with cream or frothed milk. This Golden milk latte is my personal favorite now after masala chai.
Spiced Mexican Hot Chocolate
Spicing up this sweet winter drink with cinnamon sticks and splash of creamy milk. This hot chocolate drink will keep you warm and cozy in winters. For this you need milk of your choice, cinnamon sticks, dark chocolate, vanilla extract. Bring it to boil on medium heat don’t let it simmer for long, cover and let it stand for few seconds. Make it boil again and add dark chocolate whisk it properly and simmer it for 15 mins. Strain the mixture and add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to it. Serve warm. I tried this once and can’t wait to have this again.
White spiced coffee
Blending cinnamon sticks, honey and cardamom in coffee marinated milk. For coffee milk, first you need to place the milk to boil and then add crushed coffee to it , after 7 min remove it from the flame and let it down for 15 mins. Strain the milk and discard the beans, then add cinnamon sticks, cardamom and honey to the mixture, blend it on high speed let the spices mix well for about 30-40 sec. Strain it again, rewarm the milk and serve hot when needed. Try this out once with complete instructions given and give your body a warmth. It is soo good and yummy- for me and for you.
Fresh Mint Tea
Fresh mint Tea, so simple and delicious easy to make, not to mention the health benefits. Simply add fresh mint leaves to boiling water, if you want to sweeten it you can add simply honey to it. This simple hot drink is prefect for any time – Morning or Night, your choice. I keep switching it with my herbal green tea sometimes.
